Inventory

Your inventory is what your character is carrying, organized into storages such as a backpack, a belt or a cart, each with its own contents and weight.

It is also where weapons get their attacks, so what you carry and what you can do with it stay in one place.

Quick Notes

  • Items live inside storages, and storages carry their own weight rules.
  • Attacks belong to the item, so a weapon brings its attacks with it.
  • Drag and drop can be locked so nothing moves by accident.

How the page is laid out

How the page is laid out

Your storages run down the page, each holding its own items. An item always belongs to a storage, which is what makes weight meaningful.

Create a storage

Create a storage

Add Storage makes a new container, taking a Storage Name and an optional Max Weight.

Editing an existing storage is done from that storage's own menu rather than from this button.

Carry weight

Carry weight

The pair at the bottom of the page is what you are carrying against what you can carry. The second number is editable, so open it and set the capacity your table uses.

Go over it and the readout turns red and the warning icon lights; nothing is blocked, it just stops being quiet about it.

Include Storage Weight? on a storage decides whether the items inside it still count toward that total, which is the difference between an ordinary sack and an enchanted one.

Add an item

Add an item

Add Item opens a drawer for the item's Name, Weight, Quantity, Storage and a description.

Is a Material marks it as something attacks consume, like arrows or components.

Give an item an attack

Give an item an attack

An item can carry attacks, which is how a spear becomes something you can roll with. Has Attacks marks items that do.

The attack takes its damage in roll notation, so 1d6+STR+PB behaves as it does anywhere else.

Weapon variants

Weapon variants

One item can hold several attacks: a spear thrown and a spear thrust, or a weapon used one-handed and two-handed.

Keeping them on the same item means one entry in your pack rather than three copies of the same spear.

Attack materials

Attack materials

An attack can consume a material each time it is used, and it can only draw on items you actually carry.

Firing a bow with no arrows in your inventory is refused, rather than silently working.

Review an attack

Review an attack

Summary on an item's attack opens its description, with damage, effects and materials in one place, without opening the editor.

Move items between storages

Move items between storages

Transfer moves an item to another storage. Dragging does the same thing when drag and drop is enabled.

Lock drag and drop

Lock drag and drop

Enable Drag & Drop and Disable Drag & Drop toggle whether items can be dragged at all.

Locking it is worth doing mid-session on a touchscreen, where a scroll can otherwise become a move.

Work on several items at once

Work on several items at once

Selecting items gives you Move Items and Delete Items across the selection, which is how a party splits loot after a fight.

Upload items in bulk

Upload Items brings items in from a file rather than typing each one. It opens your system's file picker, and the items land at the top level of the pack.

To put a whole crate of loot straight into a container, use Upload on that storage's own menu instead.

The storage menu

The storage menu

Each storage carries its own menu: Edit to rename it or change whether its contents weigh anything, Item to add one straight into it, Upload to bring a file of items into it, and Delete.

Find something you are carrying

Find something you are carrying

Search Item... filters across your storages, which beats scrolling when your character is a hoarder.
