Maps

Maps are the host's, shared with the party. You can open any map they have shared, read the markers on it, and, where the host allows it, place and move markers of your own.

Quick Notes

  • You only see maps the host has shared.
  • You can only share markers you placed yourself.
  • Hold Alt to drag markers without unlocking each one first.

Open a shared map

Open a shared map

The map list holds every map the host has shared with the party. Opening one loads it with its markers already in place.

Maps the host has hidden do not appear at all, so the list is always what is currently available to you.

The marker list

The marker list

Markers opens a panel listing every marker on the map with a live count. When a map has none it reads No markers yet.

Clicking a marker in the list flies the map to it, which is the quickest way to find something on a large map.

Search and sort markers

Search and sort markers

Search markers... narrows the panel by title, and the sort control offers Unsorted, A to Z and Z to A.

Filter markers

Filter markers

The filter toggle opens three controls, and carries a count of how many are active:

  • Owner: everything, only yours, or only other people's.
  • Shared: whether the marker is shared with the party.
  • Can Move: whether you are allowed to move it. Your host sees this same setting called Player Control.

You can also narrow by marker symbol. Clear filters resets the lot.

Place a marker

Place a marker

Double-clicking the map opens a new marker, where you set a Title, pick an Icon and a Color, and choose whether to share it.

Share a marker you placed

Share a marker you placed

Share Marker makes a marker visible to the rest of the party, and Unshare Marker takes it back.

This only applies to your own work, and the app says so plainly: you can only share markers you placed yourself.

Moving markers, and when you cannot

Moving markers, and when you cannot

Markers are locked against accidental dragging. Unlock one to move it, or hold Alt to drag without unlocking each one first.

If a marker will not move, the host has not handed players control of it, and the app tells you: your game master has not given players control of this marker.

Work on several markers at once

Work on several markers at once

Select all markers in view, or tick markers individually, and a bar appears with the actions you can take across the selection.

What is offered depends on what the host has allowed. You cannot bulk your way past a permission you do not have.
